St John WA marches with Pride

Press Release

Saturday evening saw St John WA team members walk alongside the LGBTQIA+ community at Perth’s Pride Parade.

For the sixth year running, paramedics, volunteers, Event Health Services staff and support workers were joined by St John WA Group CEO Kevin Brown, Chief People Officer Tamsyn Howard, and Kura Bear to represent WA’s emergency ambulance service.

The St John WA Pride ambulance also took centre stage as thousands lined the streets of Northbridge on November 25 for the annual event with the theme for this year’s parade being “Brave”.

This year’s Pride festival showcased the LGBTQIA+ community’s bravery, resilience, and determination to fight for equal rights, visibility and respect, as well as a call for allies and community leaders to have the courage to stand up for a more inclusive society.

Proudly marching in uniform since 2018, participating in the parade cements St John WA’s support of LGBTQIA+ people both within the organisation and across the communities team members serve.
