Best in the west: St John WA manager wins scholarship
St John WA’s Port Hedland Station Manager Justine Fletcher has won the 2024 Women in Leadership Scholarship.
The Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA) offers the Women in Leadership Scholarship to encourage more women to step into leadership roles and to support the further development of current women leaders in ambulance health services.
The scholarship was formed through the CAA Women in Leadership working group, who sought to address the challenges and adversities for women in ambulance health services by encouraging leadership development and mentoring.
The CAA Women in Leadership Symposium was held on November 21 in Sydney.
The symposium provided attendees with practical skills, tools, perspectives and takeaway tips to help women take the next step in their roles.
The Leadership Scholarship winner and runners-up were announced at the symposium.
Along with the scholarship winner, Justine, St John WA paramedic and Country Manager Kristy Fraser was named joint runner-up.
Caitlyn Porteous and Shaye Wesley were also finalists.
