Celebrating the unveiling of Jerramungup Sub Centre renovations

Press Release

The St John WA Jerramungup Sub Centre celebrated the completion of its long-awaited renovations with a community morning tea, marking a significant milestone for the local area.

The event was well attended by volunteers past and present from Jerramungup and its sub-branches and members of the broader local community.

Representation from St John WA State Office included Brendon Brodie Hall, Chief Emergency Officer, and Andre Richot, Acting General Manager State Logistics and Control, as well as Great Southern District Office team members.

The sub centre, which had not seen such significant upgrades since the late 1980s and early 1990s was due for improvements.

The renovation project began in 2019 and was a long-term goal for the Jerramungup team.

A special mention goes to Danielle Wisewould, former Chair, current EMT and VDO, and local 2025 Citizen of the Year, whose tireless efforts were instrumental in bringing the renovation to fruition.

Along with her family, Danielle dedicated countless hours to the painting and restoration work.

Jerramungup is also home to three sub-branches: Gairdner, Wellstead, and Bremer Bay.

Each has its own unique characteristics, from Gairdner’s stand-alone shed to the shared facilities in Wellstead and Bremer Bay – the latter being part of the ongoing Bremer Bay Emergency Precinct Project.

The re-opening of the Jerramungup Sub Centre marks an exciting chapter for the community and emergency services in the region, offering a refreshed space that enhances both function and community connection.
