Bruce Rock Enginering SJWA R U OK

Championing mental health awareness for R U OK? Day

Press Release

St John WA partnered with Bruce Rock Engineering this year for R U OK? Day with the aim of helping to build a healthy and connected community.

A series of talks focussed on mental health took place around the State, with SJWA speakers running sessions in Forrestfield and Bruce Rock.

“Mental health matters just as much as physical health,” SJWA Social Sustainability manager Angel Robins said.

“On R U OK? Day, we encourage everyone to reach out, listen, and support one another.

“It could save a life.”

For Bruce Rock Engineering, whose safety motto is “Mind your mate”, the sessions served as a way to underpin the culture they are building around both physical and mental safety.

“These events are about reminding everyone that caring for oneself and one another is an everyday commitment, and we want our people to walk away with that message front of mind,” Head of People, Culture and Safety at Bruce Rock Engineering, Curtis Payne, said.

“By partnering with organisations like St John WA, it helps us educate, inspire, and empower our people, allowing us to provide real value to them and continue strengthening a culture of ongoing support across our teams.”

SJWA is proud to support R U OK? Day, which is a powerful reminder to ask the question and truly listen.

The organisation has worked closely with R U OK? Day to ensure team members are well equipped to help Western Australia live well.

SJWA thanks Bruce Rock Engineering for inviting our people to share the importance of mental health with their teams.
