‘All in’ for sensory Walk for Recognition at Kaarta Koomba
St John WA team members went on a sensory journey through the wildflower trails of Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park) as part of the annual Walk for Reconciliation held by Reconciliation WA.
Dozens from the State Office, which included leaders, support departments and frontline responders, listened to truth telling stories and why Kaarta Koomba is a place of deep significance to the Noongar people.
The walk concluded in the heart of the reconciliation community, where a full day of main stage programming, performances, activations, and food stalls celebrated the oldest living culture on earth.
“It was a moment to listen, to learn, and to walk forward together,” said Jordan Mogridge, First Nations Relations Specialist.

Earlier this year, thousands of people came together to be “All in” during National Reconciliation Week, with powerful voices calling for state and federal ‘truth telling’ at the National Reconciliation Week breakfast held at Optus Stadium.
The Walk for Reconciliation is a continuation of that recognition and demand of governments.
Chiefs Kevin Brown, Megs O’Donnell, Rene Anderson and Martyn Jenkins were among those walking with RAP Working Group members and team members keen to demonstrate their allyship.
Primary Schools also took part in Thursday’s walk, and a walk in Goomburrup (Bunbury) also took place on the same day.
St John is committed to reconciliation as part of its Reconciliation Action Plan.
St John WA team members and leaders also ventured into the Beeliar Wetlands with respected Noongar knowledge holders to gain a deeper understanding of the significance of Country on July 9, as part of NAIDOC Week 2026.
