Asthma first aid tips

Press Release

Asthma can be life threatening, if not managed properly.

If you need to provide assistance to someone having an asthma attack you can do so by doing the following:

1) Make patient comfortable if conscious.

2) If patient is carrying an inhaler, assist with administration.

3) Use the inhaler to provide four puffs every four minutes (up to eight puffs for adults).

4) If symptoms persist or worsen dial triple zero (000).
