St John WA’s annual Giving Tree Appeal has once again highlighted the generosity and community spirit of Western Australians.

Now in its seventh year, the partnership with Anglicare WA has collectively brought more than 3,500 gifts to children and young people facing challenging times during the festive season.

This year alone, an incredible 581 gifts were donated, ensuring the magic of Christmas reached those who need it most.

“It’s really important because a lot of people are doing it tough at the moment, and there are children across Western Australia who are struggling to have food on the table, let alone Christmas presents,” said Anglicare WA CEO Mark Glasson.

Held at various locations across the state, the Giving Tree saw St John WA team members, volunteers, and community members contributing thoughtful gifts for children of all age groups, from newborns to teenagers.

On Saturday 30 November, the first ever St John Family Giving Tree Day at 5 Cowcher Place Belmont, provided an opportunity for families to come together and place their gifts under the Giving Tree.

Group CEO of St John WA, Kevin Brown, expressed his gratitude.

“We’re so grateful to everyone who took part in the Giving Tree Appeal this year and brought these great gifts together so that young people across the state can actually benefit and have a little bit of joy this festive season.”

The partnership between St John WA and Anglicare WA remains a vital initiative in bringing relief to those who might otherwise go without during the festive season.

Thanks to the continued support of the community, this appeal ensures that Christmas remains a time of hope and happiness for children across the state.
