Celebrating our volunteers
On Thursday 12 March, more than 150 volunteers were celebrated at St John WA’s Metro Volunteer Awards night at Burswood on Swan.
The evening brought together volunteers across Event Health Services (EHS), Community Transport Services (CTS), Youth and Community Engagement (YCE) and the St John Academy to thank and celebrate them for their incredible service.
For EHS, five team members were recognised for five years of service, 30 for 250 hours of continued volunteering, 11 for 500 hours and Ray Duncan was presented with 750 continuous hours of service.
For CTS, 10 team members were recognised for five years of service, 52 for 250 hours, 24 for 500 hours, 12 for 750 hours and John Molcher and Shane Paterson were awarded with 2000 hours of continued service.
Within Youth and Community Engagement, Don Atkins achieved 100 hours of service and, for Eva Wu, 150 hours.
“Our volunteers shape some of the most memorable experiences for the WA community and are there for people when they need them the most,” Kevin Brown, Group CEO, said.
“I’m incredibly proud to be part of this team and to celebrate all the incredible award winners.”
For the first year ever the St John Academy announced its Team Member of the Year, Lilly Clifford, and runner-up Kale Guthrie.
They have been recognised for their commitment to the St John Academy program and using their skills, compassion and initiative to create a positive impact around them.
