How the First Responder App can help you step up in an emergency

Press Release

We’re all in this together and you never know when you have to step up in an emergency. With this easy-to-use mobile application, you’ll be in the best position to do so.

How could the First Responder App help you step up in an emergency?

In the event of an emergency, the St John WA First Responder App is your pocket-sized hero and best friend – there to guide and remind you in times of troubles.

Let’s walk through the many lifesaving features together:

  • First aid instructions Guides
You’ll find first aid instruction guides located on the app dashboard (in the First Aid Toolbox).

Here, you can find tailored and specific first aid instructions for a range of injuries and illnesses from asthma and heart attacks, diabetes induced emergencies, head injuries, to blue ringed octopus and snake bites; wherever you are.
  • Defibrillator (AED) locator
Defibrillators can save lives, which is why the app will help find the nearest one to you.
  • Medical centres and emergency departments locations
From your local medical centre, to nearest emergency department, the app will help you find them and even include live emergency department wait times.
  • Patient transport and transfer services
Sometimes you need help, but it’s not an emergency. You’ll find information for these times of troubles too.
  • First Aid course information
Whether it’s digital or face-to-face, you can find all course information here.
  • Dial Triple Zero (000) and send your location
Lastly and most importantly is the ability to dial 000. The app will help you in an emergency situation, when dialling 000 is essential for urgent care. It will even send your location to the operator (only in WA) when you call, saving precious time in finding your exact location.
