St John WA (SJWA) is launching its first ever public podcast designed by paramedics for clinicians, with 12 clinical practice episodes set to release over the next 12 months.

Clinical Practice Radio, or CPR for short, will release its first episode 29 May 2025 across all major podcasting platforms.

SJWA Deputy Director of Paramedicine Andy Bell will host the new podcast, alongside SJWA Clinical Leads Megan Currie and Nick Overington who met at university almost a decade ago.

The show is set to discuss a range of clinical and management topics using the latest evidence-based research and inviting subject matter experts to share their insights.

As paramedicine continues to evolve and develop, Andy draws on 18 years of experience to examine topics conversationally, with different lenses.

“The podcast intends be a conversation starter and an opportunity for paramedics and other clinicians to get new ideas, rethink old concepts and challenge existing thoughts,” Andy said.

“It’s critical that the profession becomes grounded in research based best practice.

“Our hope is that clinicians of every level, from volunteers to students to the highly experienced can take a little something away from every episode and integrate it into their own practice.”
