St John WA team members honoured at 2026 Recognition Ceremony

St John WA’s latest Recognition Ceremony was held at The Westin in Perth on June 10 and saw 228 team members honoured. 

The event celebrates the remarkable academic and professional achievements of St John WA’s operational team with the latest Paramedic promotions, Service Award recipients and National Medal and Clasp recipients recognised. 

Team members travelled from across Western Australia to attend, including from Hedland, Kalgoorlie, Norseman, Kununurra and Leonora. 

The ceremony recognised:  

  • 47 Ambulance Officers graduating to Paramedics 
  • 154 paid length of service awards celebrating 10 to 45 years of service 
  • 27 National Medal and Clasp recipients 

His Excellency, the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM, Governor of Western Australia, delivered the opening address and presented National Medals and Clasps. 

St John WA Group CEO, Kevin Brown, and Chairperson, Monish Paul, presented the Service Awards and Paramedic promotions. 

Clinical Development Lead for Rural and Remote Operations, Ben O’Regan, was also a guest speaker for the evening. 

Among those recognised for 35 years of service were Alan Churchill, Harold Marwick and Lisa Smith.  

Joanne Brand, Mark Hill and Lynette Spalding were awarded Second Clasps. 

A second event will be held later in the year to further recognise St John WA team members.
