St John WA has won a 2023 National Employer Support Award for its support of Australian Defence Force (ADF) reservist employees, having already won a state-based award.

Out of a record number of 411 national nominations across six categories, St John WA (SJWA) won the not-for-profit category.

Clinical Support Paramedic (CSP) Andrew Wishart was among five ADF reservists who nominated the organisation in acknowledgement of its ongoing support.

St John WA representatives did not attend the awards dinner in Sydney on Tuesday night due to a funeral being held for CSP Tinesh Tamilkodi to honour his life and dedication to the service of humanity, the WA community and his family in green.

ADF Reserves and Employer Support (ADFRES), which organises the awards, told guests at the dinner of the sadness surrounding the loss in the line of duty of Tinesh, who died while responding to a priority ambulance call in the early hours of November 14.

ADFRES congratulated and thanked SJWA and other award winners for their strong support of Navy, Army and Air Force reservists.
