IGO stands with St John WA to support first aid in Esperance & Norseman High-Schools

St John WA will be delivering its First Aid Focus course to year 11 and 12 students from Norseman District and Esperance Senior high schools, thanks to the renewed sponsorship of the program by exploration and mining company, IGO.

St John WA’s First Aid Focus program aims to train and equip students with the skills to assess and respond to first aid situations, while developing strategies to seek help for themselves or others.

St John WA Goldfields-Esperance Chairperson, Rachael Doney said the support the initiative provides is crucial in driving St John WA’s overall mission to build community resilience, particularly in regional areas of WA.

“Accidents can happen at any time and sometimes the only person available to help is a young person. Through the support of IGO, we’re able to educate and empower the young adults in this region to support the community during an emergency and practice what they’ve learnt through St John WA’s First Aid Focus course. By investing in educating our future generations in first aid, we’re building a stronger and more resilient community,” she said.
