New faces on St John WA Board
St John WA is proud to welcome new Non-Executive Directors Matt Mueller GAICD FGIA and Monish Paul MAICD to the Group Board.
Mr Mueller and Mr Paul bring relevant experience aligned to the organisation’s newly-released Strategic Direction 2030 and diversity-of-thought to the eight-member Board.
St John WA Chair Sally Carbon OAM FAICD said new the new appointments brought in innovation, governance and technology expertise and leadership to the organisation and had been recruited with support from an independent expert.
“We now have a full board team to oversee the next the next strategic phase for St John WA, the tenth since it launched in Western Australia in 1892,” Ms Carbon said.
“Over the past year, St John WA has transitioned into a different agency, with a largely refreshed Board, a new group CEO and five new subdivision Chiefs, plus a new group operating model, strategic plan, governance review, remuneration review and 90-day reporting cycles which replace monthly cycles.”
“Shorter, sharper board tenures are now in play to ensure the governance of St John WA matches the pace of change and expertise required at the highest level.”
“Mr Paul, originally from India, is a highly experienced, full-time Non-Executive Director, with a great deal of experience working alongside Government and private enterprise at a strategic and high-performing level.
“Mr Mueller, originally from USA, brings a youthful, global and innovative mindset to the Board. He is highly regarded and brings additional governance, risk and strategicy expertise, particularly in relation to meeting customer needs.”

The pair formally started their tenure with St John WA on February 1.
