Saying Farewell to Isabel Blanch Bradbury MStJ
St John WA is saddened to say goodbye to another member of the green family. Isabel Blanch Bradbury MStJ passed away on 11 April 2024.
Isabel spent more than 50 years in the service of her community.
She joined St John WA in Katanning as a Cadet in 1972, and in 1974, she joined the Brigade, earning her Brigade Medallion and Service Medal in 1984.
At the Katanning sub centre, Isabel held a variety of roles, from Volunteer Ambulance Instructor to Secretary to Treasurer.
She was tirelessly dedicated to helping the Katanning sub centre reach its full potential.
Isabel helped keep the sub centre’s financials on track while also coordinating crews for emergency calls and inter-hospital transfers.
Rather than limit herself to just the SJWA family, Isabel was also involved in the greater community, leading public relations visit at schools in the area.
In 1987, she received the Katanning Citizen of the Year award, and in 1999, she was presented with the Commonwealth Award for Senior Australians.
SJWA honoured Isabel for her lengthy and exceptional service in 2012 by investing her as a Member of the Order of St John.
She continued to be a bright spot for the SJWA team and her community alike, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
