St John Safe keeps first aid front and centre at Pentanet
St John WA is proud to support leading Western Australian telecommunications provider Pentanet in setting a strong standard for workplace first aid and emergency readiness.
Since 2021, the St John team has worked with Pentanet to develop tailored First Aid Management Plans for its growing team through St John Safe – complimentary assessments that help organisations choose the right equipment and meet workplace safety requirements through a tailored first aid approach.
After moving offices last year and securing a new warehouse, Pentanet Chief Commercial Officer, Connor Llewellyn, reached out to St John to ensure their First Aid Management Plan reflected the needs of the organisation’s new location and workforce.
“As our business has grown, our operations have grown and adapted to meet our changing needs,” Connor said.
“One constant has been our commitment to ensuring that our employees are protected both on-site and on the road.
“Reaching out to the St John team to undertake a new assessment of our facilities was an easy decision.
“It’s a free, comprehensive check that takes an hour or two – but could have life-changing outcomes if first aid is ever needed.”
SJWA First Aid Specialist, Megan O’Hare, assessed Pentanet’s latest sites – reviewing the on-site first aid equipment, checking Automated Electronic Defibrillators (AEDs), and verifying emergency plans and legislative compliance.
“It was rewarding to see that the recommendations from our earlier assessment with Pentanet were in operation, and they are keen to ensure their plans and equipment are still fit-for-purpose,” Megan said.
Pentanet and SJWA have worked together to provide staff with Provide First Aid certification and CPR Refresher courses too.
“Having the right equipment on site is a good starting point for any business, but the more confident and competent your staff are in applying first aid, the more it will also help to increase positive outcomes in critical situations,” Megan added.
